Addis is about nine miles southwest of Baton Rouge, a short run across the river and one of the closer stops on our schedule despite being in a different parish. Being close in means a same-day estimate and install are easy to line up, and the gutter is still rolled to your exact roofline length in the driveway rather than pieced together from stock sections.
West Baton Rouge Parish sits low and flat against the Mississippi, and Addis is no exception. The ground near the levee holds water longer than the higher lots back toward Port Allen, so a downspout that dumps at the wrong corner of the house can leave standing water against the foundation for days after a storm.
