Sunset is the longest run we make, about 55 miles west of Baton Rouge along I-10 and I-49 into St. Landry Parish. It is a full trip rather than a quick add-on, so Sunset work gets scheduled as its own visit — but the gutter is still rolled to the exact length of your roofline in the driveway, the same as a job ten minutes from our shop.
St. Landry Parish is flat prairie country, a different landscape than the pine hills up in the Felicianas or the river bottom around Baton Rouge, and the ground here does not drain the way a graded subdivision lot does. Where a downspout empties matters as much as how many you have, especially on the older lots between Sunset and Grand Coteau.
The town sits between Opelousas, Carencro, Scott and Lafayette, and a good share of the housing stock is older Creole and Acadian cottage construction with narrower eaves than the newer builds going up along the I-49 corridor.
