Jackson sits at the north end of our service area, a straight run up US 61 and LA 10 from Baton Rouge — about 27.6 miles, roughly the same trip as Zachary but a few extra minutes further into East Feliciana Parish. No — it is the northern edge of our area, about 27.6 miles from Baton Rouge and close to the same trip as Zachary. We tend to schedule Jackson and Zachary jobs on the same day rather than treat either as a special trip, and the rate does not change because of the distance.
Not because of age by itself — pricing is based on the working height of the roofline, the same $14 a foot under 15 ft and $23 over 15 ft as anywhere else we work. What we do check on the older houses around Centenary and the historic district is whether the fascia is sound enough for hidden hangers, and we will say so plainly at the estimate if it is not.
