New Iberia sits 50.9 miles southwest of Baton Rouge, down toward Bayou Teche. Like the rest of the farther towns we cover, it is far enough that we schedule the trip in advance rather than folding it into a same-day loop — the gutter is still measured and rolled in your driveway to the exact roofline, the estimate is still free, and the five-year workmanship warranty still applies.
The town follows the curve of Bayou Teche, and a lot of the historic homes on Main Street carry ornate rooflines and deep overhangs built long before gutter was standard on a house like that. Newer homes out toward Loreauville Road are simpler ranch and one-story construction, which is the more straightforward hang.
Iberia Parish is flat cane country, and a lot of New Iberia lots do not have much slope to carry water away on their own. A downspout that dumps water at the base of the slab just sits there until it soaks in, so where the outlet points matters more here than it does on hillier ground.

Iberia Parish is cane country, and a lot of New Iberia yards are close to level. A downspout that empties right at the foundation has nowhere to go and just re-wets the slab. It can. A lot of the historic homes along Main Street and Bayou Teche have original wood fascia and deep overhangs, and hidden hangers only hold if that board is still sound. We check it at the estimate; if the wood has gone soft we will say so, though fascia repair itself is not something we currently price.
